Our Challenges

Challenge 1 – FLASH

What it is:

Students stand in a circle and pass an object as fast as humanly possible through four increasingly tough levels (no drops, no neighbours, one touch only). Pure adrenaline.

Why every teacher needs this:

Zero prep, one soft object, 10 minutes and you've got an instant lesson in communication, leadership, planning and resilience. The built-in review questions practically teach themselves. Perfect starter or end-of-lesson energiser.

Challenge 2 – THE HUMAN KNOT

What it is:

Students grab random hands across the circle to create a giant human knot, then untangle into a perfect circle without letting go (pencils or scarves work if handholding feels awkward).

Why every teacher needs this:

No equipment, high engagement, and it instantly reveals who communicates clearly, who leads, and who gives up. Add a timer for extra focus. A classic that still works with Year 3 or Year 13.

Challenge 3 – THE TOWER

What it is:

Small groups get stationery they already have plus 5 pieces of tape and race to build the tallest free-standing tower in 5 minutes (after 3 minutes planning).

Why every teacher needs this:

Hands-on STEM + teamwork gold. The included “everyone must participate” rules stop dominant students from taking over. When the tower crashes (and it will), the real learning begins.

Challenge 4 – OPERATION: SILENT SUCCESS

What it is:

Groups of 6–10 line up silently and reorganise by height, birthday, shoe size, etc., in under 60 seconds. No talking allowed.

Why every teacher needs this:

Zero equipment, instant set-up, massive impact. Teaches non-verbal communication, quick decision-making and inclusion faster than any lecture. Brilliant for the first week of term or resetting a noisy class.

Challenge 5 – THE UNBREAKABLE CONNECTION

What it is:

Back-to-back partners: one draws three simple shapes and describes them, the other must recreate the drawing exactly using only words.

Why every teacher needs this:

Just paper and pens. In 10–15 minutes students experience how easily communication fails and how to fix it. Perfect for English, Drama, or any subject where clear instructions matter.

Challenge 6 – ONE RHYTHM. ONE TEAM.

What it is:

The whole group tries to clap at the exact same millisecond, progressing from easy to eyes-closed, no-talking, pure-intuition level.

Why every teacher needs this:

No equipment, no prep, huge emotional payoff. Builds focus, trust and that rare “we are one team” feeling in minutes. The perfect closer before holidays or the end of a tough unit.
