Alternative Provsion

The Outdoor Ed School offers a unique and enriching alternative provision for students, focusing on experiential learning through outdoor activities.

This approach is especially beneficial for students who thrive outside of traditional classroom settings, providing them with a dynamic and hands-on learning environment that fosters personal growth and development.

One of the key benefits of outdoor education is the positive impact it has on mental and physical well-being.

Working in green spaces encourages students to be active, improving both their fitness and mood.

Nature-based learning has been shown to reduce stress and anxiety, helping students build resilience and improve their focus.

Furthermore, engaging in outdoor activities like mountain biking, bushcraft, or team challenges allows students to try new things, pushing them out of their comfort zones while fostering a sense of achievement.

Students will take part in outdoor activities including, archery, axe throwing, pioneering, hiking, laser tag, and loads more.

At The Outdoor Ed School, students develop a wide range of transferable skills. From teamwork and communication to problem-solving and leadership, these skills are vital for future success.

Additionally, students have the opportunity to earn qualifications, enhancing their resumes and opening doors to further educational and career opportunities.

Beyond individual growth, the outdoor setting is perfect for improving social skills. Students work closely together in a supportive, cooperative environment, fostering friendships and encouraging positive social interactions.

This holistic approach prepares students for life beyond school, providing them with the confidence and skills they need to thrive in any setting.

How Your AP Is Structured

Your students program will have a bushcraft foundation. Meaning each day they will light a fire for hot drinks and to cook food.

If you student joins us for a half day provision they will take part in 1 outdoor activity and bushcraft. If your student is joining us for a full day provision they will take part in 2 different outdoor activities and bushcraft.

When your student first starts with us they will take part in all 16 of our different award winning activities. After they have tried all of them we ask them to pick their favourite 2. Then we working with them to achieve nationally recognised qualifications in their favourite activities.
